Snorkeling in Phu Quoc

Coral gardens, deep reefs and a quiet beach around Kim Quy, Gam Ghi, Buom and Mong Tay islands. Small groups, guided personally by Layla.

Phu quoc Guide

What you will see underwater

Phu Quoc does not have manta rays, dolphins or sharks. What it has is a colorful, gentle reef full of small fish and sea life.

Look for swaying sea anemones, playful mushroom corals, and the occasional curious octopus, crab or squid. There is always something to find beneath the surface.

Not a fan of snorkeling? The islands here also have pristine beaches with soft white sand, and you can spend as much time on shore as you like.

March is the sweet spot — no rain, crystal-clear visibility, and calm seas perfect for snorkeling and beach days. October runs a close second: the rains ease off, the waterfalls are still full, and the island is quieter before peak season kicks in.

Sea Anemones

Three islands worth snorkeling

The coral garden. Many beautiful corals, and big groups of fish often play around them.

The beach: Mong Tay Island

Kim Quy Island

Often called the best island for snorkeling. Beautiful coral, sea anemones and fish across a large area. Waves and currents can be strong here, so we only snorkel Kim Quy when the weather allows, for your safety.

Gam Ghi Island

Mong Tay Island has a small beach with crystal clear water. It is much quieter than May Rut Trong and May Rut Ngoai, with far fewer people.

Buom Island

The deep reef, with many healthy corals to explore. Layla knows a hidden spot full of sea anemones that she loves to show guests. In clear water you can see it from the surface. If the water is cloudy, it is better if you know how to dive.
